Exploring Ibiza's Stunning Beaches: Finding the Best and Most Beautiful Spots to Stay
A beautiful beach in Ibiza is waiting for you, you’ve just got to find the perfect one!
Ibiza’s coastline and some of its 60+ beaches are often classed as some of the most beautiful in Europe.
This guide will help discover the most beautiful parts of Ibiza and the best beaches the island offers.
There is no shortage of nice places in Ibiza to explore, but if you are wondering which side of Ibiza is best, we will have to disappoint you! A choice like that is something that we can’t make for you, so you’ll need to do some exploring for yourself.
If you’re partial to a beautiful sunset, then the west coast of Ibiza would be the perfect area to stay. However, some might consider the most attractive part of Ibiza as a hidden cove in the north or sunrise in the east. Only you can decide.
Ready to find the best beach in Ibiza? Let’s explore some of our favourites!
Cala Comte
On the west coast of Ibiza is Cala Comte - a beach with some of the clearest waters you’ll find on the island. You’ll be able to witness the perfect sunset from this area! It is something that every Ibiza holiday should include.
Cala Comte is ideal for families and groups of friends with nearby restaurants offering local dishes like 'bullit de peix', a traditional Ibizan fish stew. The famous Sunset Ashram is situated in this area and is widely known for its DJ-backed sunset sessions.
You will find Ibiza villas for large groups around Cala Comte and the surrounding areas. Being so close to Ibiza Town and San Antonio, it’s the perfect location for a group holiday base.
Cala Bassa
Most people’s beach checklists include crystal clear waters, fine white sand, beach bars and restaurants and shade from the midday sun. Cala Bassa has all of this and more. The beach is surrounded by ancient, gnarled juniper trees that provide the perfect enclosure for Cala Bassa Beach Club which offers the typical beach club experience and 5 incredible eateries to try.
Cala Bassa is especially popular among families enjoying Ibiza villa holidays due to the shallow waters and wide variety of services available on the beach, as well as the water taxi that goes to and fro, directly from San Antonio.
Benirras Beach
The home of sunset drumming sessions, Benirrás Beach is a must-visit for those looking to experience Ibiza’s bohemian side.
The drumming sessions are an island institution, creating a mesmerising, almost spiritual experience as the sun sets over the bay. It’s an area steeped in hippy history and one of the remaining places on the island where you can feel the true bohemian spirit.
Benirras is lined with amazing beach bars, ice cream spots and even a hippy market during peak season, where you can pick up artisan products from the island.
Playa d’en Bossa
As one of Ibiza’s longest beaches, Playa d’en Bossa offers a lively atmosphere with various bars, clubs, and shops lining the shore.
This area is a hotspot for party-goers, with some of the world’s best clubs hosting parties from day to night just a stone’s throw away from the beach. Staying in Playa d’en Bossa is popular with the younger crowd, but nearby areas such as Talamanca and Ibiza Town are perfect for families or couples and are well within walking distance.
Cala Salada
A short coastal walk from San Antonio will bring you to Cala Salada. Famed for its bright blue waters, cliff jumping spots and El Chiringuito, the beach’s seafood restaurant, this west coast beach is a firm summer favourite.
It also has a sister beach, Cala Saladeta accessible only by climbing over a rocky path and surrounded by pine trees. It’s secluded and natural and everything that Ibiza is about.
This area has remained beautiful due to the lack of unnecessary buildings, but this does mean that there aren’t many facilities around these beaches.
Las Salinas
Named after the ancient salt flats in the south of the island, Las Salinas is a well-known beach bordered by a pine forest.
Attracting a fashionable and Instagrammable crowd, Salinas features high-end beach bars and restaurants such as Beso Beach, Sa Trinxa and Jockey Club, all steeped in island history.
If you enjoy a bit of celebrity-spotting while you’re on holiday, or simply people-watching while you sip on a glass of sangria, Salinas could be the perfect spot to sit back and relax. Villas and boutique hotels in the area reflect the chic, bohemian vibe.

The Best Time to Visit Ibiza
If you want our honest answer, we would say it all year round! But, we know you’re looking for something a little more specific. Choose the months at the beginning and end of the summer season. April-May and September-October are some of our favourite times of the year. The weather is slightly milder than the summer months and there are also fewer crowds.
You may also get a bigger selection of Ibiza Villas when you visit the island during its off-peak months.
